I'm a single mother of two. I was
married for thirteen years. One day my husband came in and said " I don't
love you anymore." Three days later he was gone. I felt so
shattered. I became very, very sick. I couldn't eat, sleep or do
anything.
The year before I was
bedridden and pregnant. The doctors said, "So many things could be wrong
with this baby, you should really consider having an abortion." It was so
hard and I struggled with so many things.
A girl from the
Pregnancy Center of Lapeer would always call me offering love, support and
encouragement and tell me about Christ. I said no to the abortion. I
remember telling the doctors that God would take care of the baby. We
stopped all further testing. Over the next few months, the girl from the
Pregnancy Center faithfully supported me. Little did she know that the
words she spoke to me in one of our conversations would be what God would use to
change the course of my whole life. Her words were, "Whatever you do,
don't forget God."
The morning my child
was born was miraculous to me. I just kept weeping and weeping. My
child was completely perfect. I thank God for caring for my child while in
my womb.
After my husband left,
I got so sick I couldn't even get out of bed. I would just bring my child
to my bedside. Hearing my child's words, "Mommy, Mommy," were comforting
to me. Yet I knew that very soon I wouldn't be able to take care of
my child myself.
One day when I was very
sick, I remembered the words spoken by the Pregnancy Center lady, "Whatever you
do, don't forget God." I can't explain it, but God came to me that day and
helped me up and held me together until I got better. There is no love
that could ever compare to the love that was shown to me that day. I want
other to know the love of God.
He says in His Word: Behold, I
stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I
will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation
3:20
I thank God for sending
the Pregnancy Center of Lapeer into my life. What a blessing. Thank
you for your devotion to Christ.
